Given the fear created in Afghanistan post the Taliban capture, the other countries are making serious efforts to evacuate their respective citizens from Afghanistan.
As a severe setback to the efforts made by Ukraine an Ukrainian aircraft carrying the nationals was allegedly hijacked in Kabul, reports said.
Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgeny Yenin was quoted as saying by the media reports that their flight was hijacked and was taken to Iran. The alleged hijack took place on Tuesday.
The Minister added that the aircraft was sent to Afghanistan to airlift the nationals from there. However, the plane was hijacked and flown to Iran, reports claimed.
Yevgeny Yenin also expressed concerns over the Ukraine nationals in Afghanistan. Saying that they are unable to enter the airport, the Minister held the reason for the delay in evacuating the nationals.
As per the Russian News Agency, a few armed hijackers were behind this. However, there is no information on the whereabouts of the passengers in the reportedly hijacked aircraft.
