The ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine had brought a dark period for the Indians living in war-hit Ukraine. With the situation going out of hand, they had to flee the nation to save their lives. Reaching a safe place from Ukraine is nothing less than walking through a war site.
Their struggles did not end after safely landing in India. They had to face fresh struggles as far as their academics are concerned. As they were pursuing their medical studies in the war-hit nation, they could not secure admission in India, their homeland.
As they were worried about their future, the medical students who arrived from Ukraine recently had knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court to get directives that they were taken into the medical colleges in India, reports say.
In the petition that was filed before the Supreme Court by the bunch of petitioners thanked the Indian government for showing concern for the Indians stuck in Ukraine and bringing them from there. Having said that, they also urged the Indian government to provide the required help for them to continue their studies here.
The new petition joins the list of petitions that were filed by the students in various courts since they landed in India. The Common point in these petitions is that they want the Indian government to make changes to the existing system so that they would not worry about their studies and future.
