TRS Government is seriously working on achieving UNESCO recognition for monuments with historical importance. This include Charminar, Golconda Fort and Qutub Shahi Tombs.
Municipal Administration Minister K Taraka Rama Rao is keen on constituting a special Task Force to remove all the encroachments near monuments in Hyderabad. Even unauthorized constructions near the historical sites won't be spared.
In a meeting chaired by KTR, Officials of Tourism, Archaeology, Municipal Administration, Cultural Departments and Aga Khan Trust has participated. The Minister told Government will be utilizing the services of retired employees for evacuation & demolition if needed. Such a move would only boost Tourism in the city.
