After the Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee recorded a landslide victory in the recent West Bengal general elections, alleged political attacks and clashes erupted in the state.
As a continuation of the violence, Union Minister V Muralidharan's convoy was reportedly attacked by the workers of the Trinamool Congress on Thursday afternoon near the Panchkhudi area of West Midnapore.
Luckily, the Union Minister managed to escape without escaping himself in the attack. However, his car driver and a few others sustained several injuries.
"TMC goons attacked my convoy in West Midnapore, broken windows, attacked personal staff. Cutting short my trip," the Union Minister tweeted about the attack along with a video.
In the video shared by the Union Minister, a group of men can be seen barging towards the Minister's convoy holding sticks and roads in their hands.
The BJP has condemned the attacks and blamed Mamata Banerjee for the violence. BJP leader, Union Minister Prakash Javdekar questioned, who is safe in Bengal when a Minister's convoy is attacked.
