US permits Vaccinated Foreign Passengers from November 8

Update: 2021-10-16 05:18 GMT
After battling back-to-back waves of the deadly Coronavirus, the world is slowly getting ready to get back to normal days. The countries are on a spree of easing the travel restrictions for the foreign nationals who have received their vaccine doses. Several western countries have eased the restrictions.

Taking a cue from them, the Superpower nation United States announced the ease of the travel restrictions. As per the new guidelines, the foreign nationals who received their vaccine doses can enter the country from the 8th of October.

The new guidelines were confirmed by White House Assistant Press Secretary Kevin Munoz on Friday. Taking to Twitter, he said the travel policy will start from November 8. The White House Secretary also said that the guidelines were issued taking public health into consideration.

'The US' new travel policy that requires vaccination for foreign national travelers to the United States will begin on Nov 8. This announcement and date applies to both international air travel and land travel. This policy is guided by public health, stringent, and consistent,' his tweet reads.

The new travel policy was announced weeks after White House Covid-19 response coordinator Jeff Zients announced that international air passengers need not follow the quarantine period like it used to be earlier. Last month, the US said that the foreign nationals have to submit their vaccine certificates and the negative Covid test reports while boarding the flights.

The test should be done three days before the date of the travel. On the other hand, the passengers who didn't take their vaccine doses will be tested and will be sent to the Covid test.

The United States was hit very hard by the novel Coronavirus in both the first and second waves of the pandemic. Millions of people were admitted to the hospitals making the waiting period for patients to get admission to the hospital longer.

Johns Hopkins University said the confirmed cases of Covid are more than 44.8 million, while over 722,800 patients have lost their lives to the virus. Globally, over 239.9 million people came in contact with the virus and over 4.8 million patients succumbed to the pandemic.
