The data collected by the Johns Hopkins University found out that, US reported as many as 50,000 fresh infections on Wednesday which marks the highest in a single day so far.
With the new addition, the total infections in the nation zoomed to 26,85,806, while 1,28,061 people succumbed to the fatal virus.
Things went upside down in the US within a month. In the first week of June, the nation used to report around 22,000 at an average daily. But the cases doubled now raising many fears and concerns.
The previous highest single day cases in the US were 49,286 on Tuesday. Adding more fears, the other day, Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases predicted that the US will report 100,000 cases daily if proper steps were not taken.
