Amid growing outrage from the opposition parties and organizations over the heinous Hathras incident, Uttar Pradesh ADG (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar has made some shocking revelations.
It has been reported that Prashant Kumar said that according to the forensic science laboratory (FSL) report, the cause of the victim's death is an injury on her neck and the trauma caused by it.
"We have received the FSL report. No samples of sperms were found, which clearly says, no rape or gang rape took place, " Some media outlets quoted Prashant Kumar.
He went on to say that even the victim did not mention about rape in her statement to police and some persons have wrong presented the facts to disturb the social harmony.
He added that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yog Adityanath has set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the case and said the people behind this will not be spared.
Looking at the incident, the victim was allegedly gang-raped by four upper caste men on September 7. Her kin who found her in the fields rushed her to Delhi's Safdarjung hospital. After fighting for a fortnight, she breathed her last on Tuesday.
