The decision of Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao to construct a new secretariat splurging hundreds of crores sparked a controversy.
Congress Leader V Hanumantha Rao alleged KCR has been constructing new Secretariat to leave a mark of his own on all the iconic structures. He declared a Public Ballot would decide whether or not KCR should construct the new secretariat.
About 20 Ballot Boxes will be arranged in Hyderabad city. Polling will happen from 10 PM to 6 PM on 26th of September. The counting of votes would happen at the Somajiguda Press Club on September 27th.
VH: 'KCR wishes to sacrifice 300 acres of land and spend Rs 200 crore for new Secretariat. Lobbying with Centre has been done at a huge level. At last, KCR obtained the land from Defence Ministry and begun the work. Can the result of public ballot change the mindset of KCR?'.
