Update: 2022-04-23 03:54 GMT
A swank new building for the municipal corporation was constructed at a huge cost. But that was 12 years ago. During these 12 years, the municipal corporation building was never inaugurated. So, it was never used. Now, the municipal authorities are getting ready to demolish the building that was never used. The reason? To construct a new municipal corporation building!!

Sounds strange? But, this is the true story of Nirmal municipal corporation in Telangana. Nirmal Municipal Corporation Building was constructed 12 years ago, spending huge amounts. Even after the completion, the municipal office did not shift to the new building. No inauguration ceremony was ever conducted. Though as many as three new mayors came, no one occupied the building.

Why? Authorities say the building has bad Vaastu and those occupying it will incur the wrath of the inauspicious stars and planets. So, no leader is ready to enter the building. As a result, the new municipal corporation building was left useless for 12 years. The municipal corporation officials are operating from the old premises only.

Now, the municipal corporation authorities have decided to demolish the building that was never used. They want to build another office that is vastu compliant so that the municipality and those leading it are spared from bad stars.  The building, constructed in 2010, is now dilapidated and would be demolished now to build another building at a cost of Rs 3.30 crore.
