To everyone's surprise, Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu heaped praises on KVP Ramachandra Rao saying this Congress MP is the only one who tried his best to stop the bifurcation. 'Had if Congress mentioned about Special Status in AP Reorganisation Act 2014, This situation wouldn't have arised. The blunder committed by Congress party has become a big issue now. When I voiced my opinion in Parliament, Few Members alleged I'm speaking in favor of AP inspite of representing Karnataka. Only KVP remain firm on his stand that AP should remain United. At some point, All the other Seemandhra MPs came to the opinion that its better to bifurcate. I predicted there will be inter state disputes for water if Telangana was formed. The language used by Congress in the Bill has caused few problems to AP,' he opined.
In response to Pawan Kalyan's allegations, Venkaiah Naidu asked: 'Even though I have no representation from AP, I tried my best to reduce the damage caused through bifurcation. Where were these Yodhas at that time?'.
On PK's dig at BJP's 'One Vote - Two Seats', Venkaiah told BJP is always in favor of Telangana statehood but wanted to do justice to Seemandhra. 'Its a political strategy, not political opportunism,' he clarified.
