Controversial actress Kangana Ranaut had landed in a fresh controversy with her sensational statements on India's independence. Sharing her opinion on the country receiving independence, Queen actress Kangana Ranaut made controversial statements for which she is receiving criticism from all the corners.
Speaking at the Times Now Summit, Kangana Ranaut said, India got real independence in 2014, not in 1947. Her comments sounded like she was linking BJP's victory in 2014 to the country's independence. This had raised a lot of eyebrows and she was trolled brutally for her views.
Kangana's statements on independence have not impressed Communist Party of India (CPI) national secretary K. Narayana, who lashed out at the actress and called her a classical beggar. Narayana opined that Kangana Ranaut has no knowledge of independence and slammed her over her views.
In a video message, CPI Naryana asked what authority the actress has to pass such comments on independence. While roasting Kangana Ranaut, the Communist leader also breathed fire on the BJP for presenting the Padma Shri award to such a person. Both BJP and Kangana have no idea about independence and they don't stand any chance to comment on it, he said.
The veteran communist leader demanded Kangana Ranaut to issue an apology over her controversial statements and warned that if she won't apologise for her statements, they will launch a protest against her to see that she realizes her mistake.
Kangana faced severe backlash from many including BJP MP Varun Gandhi and AAP. The saffron party MP came down severely on the actress and termed her statements as an insult to the freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, and several others. The MP said this is an anti-national act.
On the flip side, the ruling party in Delhi Aam Aadmi Party had called out Kangana Ranaut for her controversial statements. Seeing the statements as sedition remarks, the party complained with the police seeking an FIR against Kangana Ranaut for disrespecting the struggles and fight for freedom. The complaint was registered with the Mumbai Police. AAP leader Preeti Sharma Menon complained against Kangana in this matter.
