Vijay Mallya was arrested Scotland Yard in London on Tuesday after India requested UK for the extradition of the Liquor Baron. He, however, was granted bail within 10 minutes after being produced at Westminster Magistrates Court.
After being granted bail, The 61-Year-Old took to Twitter Today evening to say: 'Usual Indian media hype. Extradition hearing in Court started today as expected'.
The chairman of now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines has to repay debts of over Rs 9,000 to various Indian Banks. He left the country on March 2nd last year after banks declared him as defaulter. He was accused of loan defaulting and misusing of funds offered for cash-strapped Kingfisher Airlines.
Seems like, Mallya might be allowed to stay in UK for few more months because he is a green card holder and extradition is a lengthy process.
