Talk Of Town: Vijay Mallya's Letter To PM!

Update: 2018-06-26 16:53 GMT
Liquor Baron Vijay Mallya unveiled a two-year-old letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi Today to put things in the right perspective. The letters sent to PM and Finance Minister were dated on April 15th, 2016. He complains no response was received from either of them.

Mallya cried foul that he has been made the Poster Boy of bank default when he was making efforts to settle his dues to the banks. He faults the accusations by politicians and media against him as if he robbed Rs 9,000 crore which was loaned to Kingfisher Airlines. Objection has been raised over Banks labeling him as a Wilful Defaulter. He claims to be tired of relentless attempts by the Indian Government and it's agencies for his extradition.

After invading arrest for over two years, Vijay Mallya says: 'I continued to make every effort to settle the matter with Public Sector Banks. There is nothing I could do if politically motivated extraneous factors interfere'.

Vijay Mallya alleged CBI and ED were determined to level criminal charges against him. He wondered, 'Why ED refused his application for sale of assets in order to repay dues to the Banks? Whether the Government wants me to repay the loans or not?'.
