Vijayasai Reddy comes down severely on Centre over Union Budget

Update: 2021-02-01 12:54 GMT
The Union Budget 2021-22 came a rude shock for Andhra Pradesh, as no projects and funds were announced for the state. Empty-hand from the Union government is what the state got in the budget.

Talking about the same, YSRCP leader, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Commerce, Vijayasai Reddy expressed his dissatisfaction over the Centre sidelining the state.

After Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget on Monday, the YSRCP MP addressed the media and slammed the centre for not giving importance in the budget.

The Centre has batted a bling eye towards Andhra Pradesh. When the state has been fighting for the metro projects, the Centre didn’t make any such announcements.

The ruling party MP has also come down severely on the central government for not allocating any railway projects to the state. He said the Railway corridor announced by the Centre will not benefit the state in any manner.

There was no mention of Andhra Pradesh in the budget. Only the poll-bound states Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala, and Bengal were allocated funds. Looks like, the Centre wants to appease the people in the four states ahead of the polls.

Vijayasai Reddy went on to say that, the Union government did not mention the paddy procurement to the state. No announcements on setting up Central Universities were made.

The YSRCP slammed the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi against the Budget when the opposition TDP is alleging that YSRCP has joined hands with BJP, which is why the party is not talking anything against the BJP.
