Virat Kohli Becomes The Third Skipper To Have Captained India In 200 Or More Matches

The Virat Kohli-led Indian team and England team locked their horns for the ODI series decider on Sunday. India and England have won one match each leveling the series. The team winning the third match will win the ODI series.

With the third ODI against England, India skipper Virat Kohli joined the elite list of Indian captains who have led India in most international matches. Kohli captained India in 200 matches across the formats.

In the list of Indian skippers who have led the Blue Army, Virat Kohli is in third place, while Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Mohammed Azharuddin are in the top two places with 332 matches and 221 matches respectively.

Virat Kohli, who established himself as the Master of Chase took over the captaincy from the former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni in January 2017. Virat Kohli is now the successful captain of India.

In the third ODI, India was bowled out for 329 in 48.2 overs. Shikhar Dhawan(67), Rishab Pant(78), and Hardik Pandya(64) guided the Indian team to a comfortable score. Virat Kohli's wait for a century continues as the skipper lost his wicket for seven runs.
