Virat Kohli expresses dissatisfaction with the change in Test Championship!
Team India led by skipper Virat Kohli faced a humiliating loss against the England team in the first test at Chennai. The England team crushed the hosts by a huge margin of 227 runs.
The humiliating loss resulted in India slipping to the fourth spot in the latest ICC World Test Championship points table and England jumping to the top spot in the points table.
International Cricket Council changing the percentile rules in the Test Championship did not go well with Virat Kohli, aka Run Machine. He took a slight dig at the ICC at the post-match media briefing.
"If rules in the points system change during the lockdown, nothing is in your control. When rules change during the lockdown, nothing is in your control. What you do on the field only remains in your control," Kohli said in an irritated tone.
Taking to a question on whether the change in point system will affect them, the Indian skipper said: We are not bothered about the new changes and said, there is no logic for some things.
Adding further, the skipper said we can debate for hours on the issue but the only thing we can control is the game we play. Irrespective of who reaches the top place, our goal is to play good cricket.
It has to be noted that during the lockdown period, ICC Cricket Committee, led by former India captain Anil Kumble has decided to allot points in the WTC league based on the percentage of points (PCT). The percentage of PCT is derived from the points, each team wins.
