Boxing Day Test: Virat Kohli Heaps Praise On Indian Team

The Indian team led by working captain Ajinkya Rahane displayed a wonderful performance with the ball on the opening day of Boxing Day and restricted the Aussies team for 195.

India's star bowler led the bowling attacking by picking four crucial wickets. Ravichandran Ashwin impressed with his bowling figures, 35/3, while debutante Mohammed Siraj took two wickets for 40. Ravindra Jadeja took one wicket.

During, Indian innings, India lost the early wicket of Mayank Agarwal. But Debutant Shubman Gill(28) and experienced Cheteshwar Arvind Pujara completed the day without losing another wicket.

Virat Kohli, who is on paternity leave currently, heaps praise on the Indian team which impressed with both ball and bat by ending the day quite comfortably.

"Top day 1 for us. A great display from the bowlers and a solid finish too," Virat Kohli's tweet read.

The Indian team will resume their innings on Sunday with nine hands in hand. India scored 36 for the loss of one wicket today.

Indian fans are hoping that the Indian team will pay back the loss it tasted in the hands of Australia in the first test of the Border-Gavaskar trophy. In the second innings, India was bowled out for 36, the record-lowest score.
