King Kohli had returned to the Test side in the ongoing home series against New Zealand. Fans pinned high hopes on the Run Machine that he would bring his best and score a century to keep an end to the long wait. Virat now has 70 centuries and for more than two years, Kohli didn't score a ton.

As Kohli has a good record in Mumbai Wankhede Stadium, fans glued to the Televisions and waited for Kohli to come to the crease. Sadly, Virat Kohli went for a duck. On the opening day of the Test series, Virat lost his wicket after the Third Umpire signed LBW.

Despite a massive inside edge and the ball hitting the bat first, Kohli was given out which left Kohli and newly appointed head coach Rahul Dravid baffled. They seemed unhappy with the decision. While leaving the ground, Virat Kohli had hit the ground with his bat.

Even the netizens are not happy with the Third Umpire's decision. Social media users expressed their anger at the decision with memes and posts. How come the umpire can't see the inside edge, asked the fans.

Players like Jimmy Neesham and Abhinav Mukund expressed their shock at the Umpire's decision. Former Indian player Parthiv Patel opined that Virat Kohli was not out and credited the New Zealand team for making a good comeback.

Virat Kohli's quest for a century continues. The skipper made a ton back on November 23, 2019. Since then his fans have been expecting a century from him but in vain. When he entered the crease today in Wankhede stadium, fans hoped for some fireworks.
