In The Next Auction, I Think His Price Will Drop: Virendra Sehwag On Kings XI Punjab's Player

Update: 2020-10-10 07:20 GMT
Kings XI Punjab led by KL Rahul continues its poor form in the current Indian Premier League(IPL) season. The franchise lost five of six matches, raising many questions on the team performance.

Australian player Glenn Maxwell's performance in the season did not go well with critics. After playing six matches, Maxwell barely managed to score 48 runs, with an average of 12.

Former Indian opener Virendra Sehwag too joined the list and slammed the Australian player's poor run form. He expressed his shock over the franchises running behind the player.

In his recent chat with the Indian cricket news website Cricbuzz, Virendra Sehwag criticized Maxwell, who failed to make wonders at the scoreboard in the season. Even coming early in the batting order, he failed measurably.

Mentioning to Maxwell's batting in the death overs, Sehwag opined that he failed to perform for his team without having much pressure.

Talking further, the former Indian opener said, this happens every year. Franchises buy him for a heavy price, and his performance remains constant.

Sehwag added that in the next auction, his base price might come down to Rs. 1-2 crores from 10 crores and mentioned that Maxwell scored his IPL fifty back in 2016 edition.
