Want BAIL, then Pay Rs 10,000 crore: SC tells Petitioner

Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered Sahara Group to pay Rs 10,000 crore to get interim bail for its chief Subrata Roy and two directors of the company.

A bench of justices K.S. Radhakrishnan and JS Khehar agreed to defreeze the bank accounts of Sahara Group to raise the money. Out of this Rs 10,000 crore, Rs 5,000 crore will be deposited before the Supreme Court. For the remaining amount (Rs 5,000 crore), A guarantee of a nationalised bank be furnished in favour of SEBI to be deposited before the court.

Subrata Roy (65) and two directors Ravi Shankar Dubey and Ashok Roy Choudhary has been in judicial custody since March 4th for not abiding by the Supreme court's order for depositing Rs. 20,000 crore of investors money with SEBI.
