Watch: Lion falls into well, rescued

In a shocking and unfortunate incident a male lion reportedly fell into an open well in Amrapur village of Rajkot.Forest officials quickly reacted and rescued the lion within hours and sent to animal care centre in Sasan Gir

As per the reports the lion had fallen in the well accidentally on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. The lion was around seven to eight years in age and it had fallen in the open well located on a farm.

Residents who observed the lion in the well immediately informed the forest officials. The rescue team reached the spot and lowered a bed in the 60-feet deep well.
The lion will be kept under observation for some time before released it in the wild life. Falling in an open well is one of the three major reasons of unnatural deaths of lions. Another two reasons are train/road accidents and electrocution
