Water ATMs in Hyderabad will be a reality

Update: 2016-02-24 04:17 GMT
Hyderabad Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has approved the proposal to set up Water ATMs in the city during its recent review meeting.

Water ATMs are modeled on the lines of Cash-Dispensing Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). People in Hyderabad could be able to use kiosks for potable drinking water if this mission gets accomplished. The agenda of HMWS&SB is to provide one litre chilled drinking water for just Rs 1.

Water Board will be roping Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to collect water dues from defaulters. They will also keep an eye on delivery of free-tankers and create awareness about water conservation among people.

HMWS&SB directed the officials to change the water connection of all commercial establishments from domestic to commercial.
