We will not keep silent if Telangana interests are violated

As the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments are involved in a major face-off  over the water sharing disputes and accusing each other in this regard,the Centre has issued a Gazette Notification on Friday.

A day after the Ministry of Jal Shakti notified a gazette notification on the jurisdiction of the water boards, Telangana Chief Minister KCR spoke about the notification.

Media reports claim that  KCR said, we will not remain silent if the interests and rights of Telangana state are violated. Engineers, legal experts and others are studying the notification.

If the River Boards were notified against the inspiration of the Constitution and bifurcation act, they should be opposed on all stages including the Parliament.

It is also reported that KCR rubbished the reports of Telangana drawing more water than the allocated level and said, not a single drop of water was used by the state more than the allocated level.

In the Gazette notification, the Centre notified the jurisdiction of the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) and Godavari River Management Board (GRMB) All the projects in both states will come under the purview of the Centre.

To see that no issues arise the members of the respective River Boards, chairman, member-secretary, members and chief engineers will not be appointed from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
