160-feet tall Charminar is the first thing that comes to mind whenever there is a reference to Hyderabad. This monument was built by Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah, the 5th ruler of Qutb Shahi dynasty, in the year 1591. A part of one of the four pillars of the iconic structure fell down on Wednesday night. This unusual development raised doubts over the longevity of the 428-Year-Old Monument.

As per the Officials, 'The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) undertook restoration work of Charminar sometime ago. A portion of the newly-renovated minaret carving fell down due to the unseasonal rains'.

People gathered near Charminar in huge numbers upon knowing about the news. They are curious to know what happened to the Monument which has got a history.

Only a probe could offer a clarity on the cause of damage suffered by Charminar. Was it due to the human error or unseasonal rains? If its due to rains, Imagine what would be the situation in the rainy season.
