What Makes Tirupati bypoll one of the most-watched elections?

The temple city Tirupati is all set to witness a fierce Lok Sabha by-election slated to commence on April 17. The three face battle of YSRCP, TDP, and BJP is making the by-polls one of the much-awaited polls.

According to the media reports, the polling timings have been fixed from 7 AM to 7 PM. Election officer KVN Chakradhar Babu directed the concerned officials to render their services for the smooth flow of polls.

KVN Chakradhar Babu chaired a high-level meeting with the Returning officers of Tirupati, Srikalahasti, and Satyavedu constituencies. The meeting took place on Saturday at the Nellore Collectorate office.

During the meeting, the Election officer directed the concerned officials to see that the election takes place without any problems and no issues pertaining to the poll will arouse.

Extra polling centre should be set up in areas that have more than 1,000 votes. Permission from the Election commission should be taken to set up the extra booth. Precautionary arrangements should be made at the centre, he told the returning officers.

What makes the Tirupati by-polls one of the most watches by-poll is three parties have taken the poll seriously. The ruling YSRCP eyes to retain the sitting position while the opposition TDP wants to win the seat as a morale boost to the cadre.

On the other hand, BJP wants to enter Andhra Pradesh with a bang by winning the Tirupati polls. But the BJP is yet to announce its candidate for the election. The ruling and opposition parties have finalized their candidates.
