What next for Amaravati farmers movement?

Update: 2021-12-27 14:41 GMT
What is the next step for the Amaravati farmers? Their much-touted Nyayasthanam to Devasthanam yatra from Tulluru to Tirupati is over. While no one really knows how many of the yatris were real farmers, one this is clear. The TDP has fully backed the yatra. Its cadres and leaders left no stone unturned to make the yatra a success.

But, now that the yatra is over, what next? The Amaravati farmers showered flowers on the convoy of Chief Justice Ramana. But, after that, there is utter silence. Meanwhile, they also realised that the support for three capitals too is quite strong. They had faced considerable opposition in Kurnool and Chittoor.

In Chittoor, they had to face a protest rally against the demand for Amaravati as the sle capital of AP. Employees, students and professionals in Tirupati have staged a rally in support of three capitals. Finally, the public meeting of the pro-Amaravati group could be held only with the permission of the court.

Sources say that the yatris expected "miracles" by the time the yatra ended. But nothing of that sort happened. But by withdrawing the three-capials bill, Jagan has literally taken the wind out of their sails. Now they do not have a next move to make. They have to continue with the agitation as Amaravati has not yet been declared as the sole capital. But, if they continue, they will end up losing the goodwill because there is no 3-capitals bill in force now.
