Reports of former Indian skipper, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly foraying into the political arena are going rounds in the media over the past few months. These speculations have increased with the West Bengal elections date fast approaching.

Morphed pictures of Sourav Ganguly on the posters of Bharatiya Janata Party and the Trinamool Congress parties went viral ahead of the polls.

Amid this, Sourav Ganguly gave an interview to a leading channel and spoke about the chances of him venturing into electoral politics ahead of the forthcoming Legislative Assembly polls.

Dada said, no one knows where life takes and life is all about opportunities. He said he is just 48 and anything can happen. His comments added fuel to the speculations he might kickstart his political journey if any suitable opportunity comes his way.

Taking the question on he would have got the opportunity if he had asked for the opportunity, Dada said, Politics is a different game altogether and several aspects have to be looked at and the right evaluation has to be done.

The former Indian skipper said, before taking the opportunity he should think about the influence the opportunity will have on his life and said politics will have an impact on the person's life totally.

I am not a person who thinks much about politics. I do what pleases me and I am happy with my life. The principles and behavior of a person is the shadow of their character, I believe this strongly, Dada said.

The news and speculations of Ganguly joining the BJP are not new. Several media outlets in the recent past speculated that the BJP might invite Dada into politics and project him as CM candidate.
