Why is Chandrababu Naidu using the services of JC brothers in Tirupati bypolls? After all, JC brothers are the only one who stood up to the rising tide of YSRCP victories and managed to hold on to Tadpatri. In fact, Tadpatri is the only municipality that did not get a YSRCP mayor.
This is a measure of the popularity of the JC brothers. The brothers have considerable influence not just in Tadpatri, but across Anantapur and also all across Rayalaseema. Yet, they were not seen campaigning for the TDP in Tirupati. JC brothers are hugely popular and have deep connections with the Reddy community, which is present in considerable numbers in Tirupati, Srikalahasti, Satyavedu, Venkatagiri, Sullurpet, Gudur and Sarvepalli assembly segments of the Tirupati Lok Sabha seats. By not trying to wean away at least some Reddys to its fold, the TDP is virtually giving a walkover in Tiruapti. The Dalit votes will en masse go to the YSRCP, say analysts. As for Balija votes, a majority would go to the BJP as BJP's political ally Pawan Kalyan is from that community and is wooing the community leaders to vote for the BJP. In view of all these, it is important for the TDP to wean away at least some Reddys.
But, it is not known if Chandrababu did not extend an invitation to JC brothers or JC Brothers themselves have stayed away from the campaign. But, many feel that they should have been made a part of the TDP campaign in Tirupati to take on the YSRCP.
