Why Centre Rejects UAE's 700 Cr For Kerala?

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan announced United Arab Emirates (UAE) offered Rs 700 crore for rehabilitation of Flood Ravaged State. Whereas, Union Government isn't keen to accept any such offer.

A Senior Minister Level Officer informed, 'Right now, Centre have no plans to accept financial help from any foreign country. The same applies for UAE as well. External Affairs Ministry might take a final decision on it'.

On the other hand, Ministry of External Affairs told it is yet to receive any such offer or proposal from UAE.

The Minister of Home Affairs issued a clarification that Indians staying abroad can send their donations to Kerala CM Relief Fund and it is tax free.

Foreign Aid for NGOs registered under the FCRA won't be taxed. Income received by those NGOs which aren't registered will be taxed.
