Now, Chandrababu Naidu is unhappy with the same man who he has backed to the hilt all along. The TDP boss now feels that State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar is not doing enough. On Sunday, he said the SEC was doing nothing when the YSRCP leaders were intimidating the TDP workers during the panchayat polls.
Till now, Chandrababu has backed Nimmagadda Ramesh and there are also reports that some key TDP functionaries were behind Nimmagadda's legal fight with the YSRCP. The infamous meeting of two TDP-turned-BJP leaders at a hotel in Hyderabad had kicked up a row over the links between the two parties. But now, seeing that his party is not doing as expected, Chandrababu Naidu is seeking to put the blame on Nimmagadda's handling of the panchayat elections.
Chandrababu said that the YSRCP leaders were threatening the TDP workers and were forcefully ensuring that the elections were unanimous. He said that in 33 villages in Kalahasti assembly constituency, the YSRCP legislator made the TDP withdraw from the contest and the SEC was doing nothing to stop this. A case of a friendship gone sour?
