The sudden and unannounced meeting of ace comedian Ali with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has expectedly created quite a sensation. Why did Ali meet YS Jagan at this juncture? Is he being offered a key post in the AP Government? The rumour mill went into a tizzy over this meeting.
Ali has always maintained close friendship with the politicians. He had in the past campaigned for the Mega Star and had openly backed Pawan Kalyan, who was his good friend. However, by the time of 2019 elections, he had thrown his lot behind YS Jagan and actively campaigned for him during the elections. Though the likes of Pruthvi and Vijayachander have been amply rewarded with prestigious nominated posts, Ali has not been given any post.
Some persons close to Ali say that Ali never wanted a corporation chairperson post. He always wanted a ministerial position. But the question is - will it be possible now. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has already indicated that there would be a cabinet reshuffle only two years after the formation of the government. Hence, why did Ali meet Jagan? There are no clear answers yet. Neither Ali nor YSRCP sources have given any clarification so far. So, the guessing game is on.
