Watched Salman Khan-Katrina starrer Ek Tha Tiger? The movie tells the story of an Indian spy falling in love with a Pakistani spy. This cross-border love story looked both racy and glossy on the screen. But, Pakistani spies are targeting Indian soldiers working on the borders and at key installations through beautiful lady spies who pose as lovers. This honeytrap, not the cross-border sniper attack, is now the biggest challenge for the Indian Army.

Recently, a Class IV employee working in Delhi's Sena Bhavan, the key office where crucial defence decisions are made, was arrested. The reason? His lady love, who goes by the name Anjali Tiwary. The employee, identified as Prakash Ravi Meena, was arrested this week. The reason? Anjali Tiwary, with whom he was madly in love, is actually a Pakistani spy who was ferreting out sensitive information pertaining to India's defence from him.

Prakash cannot still believe that the girl he was in love with was a Pakistani spy. The girl lured him through Facebook and both were engaged in long chats for hours. During these chats, the girl told him that she was an army officer working in West Bengal. As they struck up an online relationship, Prakash Meena unknowingly leaked a lot of secret information to her.

Interestingly, no money was involved in the transaction.Out of love for the girl, Meena began giving out  secret information to her. Now, he is cooling his heels behind the bars on charges of spying against India. He still can't believe he was conned by his lady love. Prakash Ravi Meena is from Sapotara village in Karauli district of Rajasthan.

Army intel sources say that since 2019, this is Pakistan's standard mode of spying on Indian soldiers working at sensitive places. As many as 35 military and non-military personnel were arrested in 2017, five in 2018 and eight in 2021 were arrested due to honey trapping. This year, as many as ten persons were arrested for leaking out sensitive information for honey trapping.
