Has the BJP begun cold-shouldering the Jana Sena party and its supremo Pawan Kalyan? Sources say that there are enough indications to show that the BJP feels that Jana Sena is adding no value electorally to the BJP . The latest statement by Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay too stands testimony to BJP's new line of thinking on Jana Sena.
When he was asked about seeking Jana Sena's support for Huzurabad bypolls, Bandi Sanjay said that the party has not taken any decision on taking Jana Sena's support. He also said that it has not decided to approach Pawan Kalyan to ask for his support. The reporters then asked him as to whether there was a possibility of the BJP taking Jana Sena's support. To this Pawan Kalyan mere ly said that the issue would be discussed in the party. To every question on this issue, Bandi Sanjay merely said that a decision would be taken only after discussing the issue with the party workers.
It may be recalled that the Telangana BJP has always maintained that the Jana Sena-BJP relation was limited to Andhra Pradesh. Even Bandi Sanjay has said to the same effect during the GHMC meet. Since then, the T BJP leaders did not make any effort to meet Pawan Kalyan.
The BjP feels that talking about Pawan Kalyan in Huzurabad could prove counterproductive as Pawan is seen as an Andhra man. If BjP is seen closer to the Jana Sena, it would give a powerful weapon to KCR, who could rake up the Telangana sentiment in the constituency. That could severely damage Eatala Rajender's prospects.
