When senior TDP leader from Chittoor PR Mohan died, Chandrababu flew down to Tirupati and rushed to Srikalahasti to console the bereaved family members. When Dhulipala Narendra was arrested, Chandrababu Naidu rushed to Ponnuru to meet him and reassure him that the party would stand by him. But, despite the slew of police cases, arrests and other problems, why is Chandrababu Naidu not calling on former minister Bhuma Akhilapriya?
This is the question that is being asked in political circles. Akhilapriya is now facing cases in the Hafizpet lands case, a case of kidnap and her husband and brother too are facing an imminent arrest. She has repeatedly said that the Telangana government was harassing her. Yet, Chandrababu did not bother to call on her and extend his solidarity.
Sources say either Chandrababu could be afraid of taking on the might of the Telagnana government or he feels Akhilapriya is more a burden than an asset. In fact, he is clearly siding with AV Subba Reddy and his daughter Jaswanti. AV was a one-time associate of Bhuma Nagireddy and has now fallen out with Akhilapriya. Chandrababu is showing clear bias towards AV Subba Reddy and is said to be ignoring Akhilapriya.
Chandrababu also feels that Akhilapriya has failed to take everyone along in Allagadda TDP and has encouraged groupism. It is because of her that AV Subba Reddy has fallen out with her, sources say. It is because of this that Chandrababu Naidu is adopting a safe distance from her. Sources also say that Chandrababu is wary of Akhilapriya's connections in the YSRCP. Many of her relations are now in key positions in the YSRCP and he is apprehensive that she could join the YSRCP sooner or later. Hence, Chandrababu feels that there is no use investing in her, sources say.
