Why Is Chandrababu Naidu Begging For Votes ?

Update: 2019-01-04 08:09 GMT
From his normal attacking mode, Chandrababu Naidu has come down to pleading and begging mode. He has begun begging the voters to support him one more time. The pleading tone is unmistakable. And where is Chandrababu making this fervent appeal? Not in Jagan's citadel of Kadapa or Pawan Kalyan's burrough in East Godavari. He is begging for support in his home constituency of Kuppam in Chittoor. Chandrababu, who had never lost from Kuppam, is now requesting the people to 'give his wages' for the hard work he has done by voting for him. He is also asking them to give him another victory so that he can complete the unfinished tasks.

Unnerved by the growing popularity of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in all the constituencies of Chittoor, including Kuppam, and the deep dissidence within the ranks of the Telugu Desam, he is asking the voters to bail him out for one more time. Even Pawan Kalyan's growing popularity seems to be making Chandrababu jittery. The talk of  return gift by KCR too is giving him sleepless nights. He is worried about the fallout of KCR's strategies. KCR has already decimated the TDP in Telangana. By focusing on AP now, KCR is making Chandrababu very nervous.

This perhaps is the first time when a politician of such standing is begging for mercy and votes. He is increasingly finding that his four-and-a-half year dalliance with Narendra Modi and his present opposition is not cutting much ice among the public. The people are wondering what made him to remain silent for more than four years on the issue of special status to AP. All these are pushing Chandrababu to a corner. Hence, such helpless pleadings for support.
