Why is Chandrababu targeting "Gadapa Gadapaku"?

Why is Chandrababu Naidu repeatedly raising the YSRCP's "Gadapa Gadapaku" programme in his speeches? Why is he asking the people not to believe what the YSRCP leaders explain during their visit to every home as part of the programme? Why is he so worried about this programme that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has conceived and is implementing?

The problem for Chandrababu, according to political observers, is that the TDP MLAs have not visited their constituencies after winning them. Many have not visited even once. Some MLAs are staying in places like Bengaluru or Hyderabad and have completely lost touch with the voters of their constituencies.  The general perception is that the TDP leaders will visit only when there are elections.

The TDP's other worry is that the leaders and the MLAs have nothing to claim about. They are said to be afraid that the voters will take them to task and question their non-performance. This is the reason why they are trying to keep away from their constituencies. With the YSRCP MLAs and leaders going from door to door, the problems for the TDP have only increased. Hence, Chandrababu Naidu is targeting the programme.

Chandrababu is also upset that the Gadapa Gadapaku programme is going ahead full steam and the party MLAs and ministers are reaching out to the people in a systematic manner. The house-to-house contact programme is creating a favourable impression about the government and its functioning.  Hence Chandrababu Naidu is criticising the programme right, left and centre.
