Why is TRS silent on Union budget?

Update: 2021-02-03 06:12 GMT
Why is the ruling TRS silent on the Union budget? The party, which is usually very vocal, has remained largely silent by neither welcoming nor criticizing the budget proposals. There is literally no statement from the party. The analysts are trying to interpret this as a measure of the ruling TRS party's complete surrender to the BJP at the Centre.

Sources say that KCR has strictly instructed the party leaders not to comment on the budget. This silence is strange as there is a general feeling that the allocations to the state have come down over the last year. Meanwhile, in an another indication of the TRS surrender, working president KTR did not call for a meeting of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members ahead of the budget session. Normally, such meetings are held to brief the MPs about the party stand on various issues and to guide them on how to vote on key bills. Such meetings were common till last year. This year, no such meet was held. Thus, the party MPs are directionless on how to conduct in Parliament.

Sources say there is utter confusion within the TRS as to how to deal with the BJP both at the Centre as well as at the state level. Though the BJP is getting increasingly belligerent, the TRS is unable to respond and even when some leaders attack the BJP, they are being told to mellow down and stop criticizing the BJP.
