Actress-cum-politician Vijayasanthi is in the news again. Amid reports that she might bid good bye to the Congress and join the BJP, Congress Telangana affairs incharge Manickam Tagore went over to Vijayasanthi's residence on Wednesday and held detailed discussions with her.
Vijayasanthi has been sending mixed signals these days. She has met BJP senior and union minister G Kishan Reddy and state president Bandi Sanjay. This sent the Congress into a tizzy. Meanwhile, the Congress made several attempts to make her campaign for the Congress candidate in the Dubbak bypolls. However, Vijayasanthi ignored all these appeals and stayed away from the campaign. Recently when there were some key meets of all important leaders with Manickam Tagore, she skipped all of them.
After the news of G Kishan Reddy meeting her, the Congress leadership sent senior leader Kusumkumar to her to convince her against leaving the party. On Wednesday, Tagore himself went to her. During the meeting, she is reported to have complained about the way she was being ignored in the party. She has especially targeted PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy for neglecting her. Tagore is said to have assured her that she would get due respect in the party.
