The TRS Party's biggest worry this civic polls is how to minimise dissidence. There is a reason for this. Unlike the MLA or MP elections, the number of voters is small and the winning margin, in most cases, is very low. So, a difference of about 50 voters too can make or mar the victors. Hence, the worry about dissidence.
The TRS, as it is, is faction riven as several leaders from other parties have joined the party after KCR won a landslide in 2018. Several MLAs and local leaders have joined the party and they are now demanding their pound of flesh. To add to the woes, there are these party loyalists, who stayed with the party through the troubled times. They too want their services to be recognised. So, KCR has asked his party leaders to work in coordination and take everyone along. He warned them not to ignore rival factions within the party and to ensure that they too work for the official candidate.
As of now the TRS is keeping the names of its mayoral and civic chief candidates a secret. It is afraid that if the names are revealed now itself, it could lead to dissidence and cross voting. The TRS is pulling all stops to ensure that it will win a landslide in the civic polls too as it did in the assembly and panchayat elections.
