The saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party is in its strongest form since its inception and taking on it is not an easy task. So former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi started a Bharat Jodo Yatra. He is gathering support from common people to understand the loss the BJP is doing and also seeking support from the opposition parties.
If the opposition parties can come together then BJP has to work hard. Either it might lose the polls or might emerge victorious with a small margin. It would be a big achievement for the opposition if either of this happens.
Uttar Pradesh is one of the largest states in the country and the land of temples can come in handy in creating an impact at the Centre. So gathering support from the state is the need of the hour. But the leaders are giving back-to-back shocks to Rahul Gandhi from the state.
Former Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati said no to joining the yatra. Despite receiving invitations the two chiefs of their respective parties decided to be not part of the yatra due to various reasons.
As if that was enough another big leader stayed out of the yatra. It is the turn of Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party president Om Prakash Rajbhar to decide to not walk with Rahul Gandhi. He said that he was invited to the yatra but he is not ready to be a part of it.
The internal issues between the leaders are said to be the reason behind this. Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav served as the Chief Ministers earlier and they might have felt that being a part of the Bharat Jodo Yatra might not be appropriate for their stature. Talking about Om Prakash Rajbhar, he is a former ally of the BJP and reportedly wants to join hands with the saffron party yet again.
