Why YSRCP left Vasireddy Padma to fend for herself?

Update: 2022-04-29 06:16 GMT
Why has the ruling YSRCP ignored and completely sidelined State Women's Commission chairperson Vasireddy Padma in the women's rape issue? Why are the YSRCP big guns silent and are not coming out in her support? This is the question tormenting the supporters of Vasireddy Padma.

It may be recalled that Vasireddy Padma entered into a heated argument with TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and his supporters over the issue of the rape victim. Vasireddy Padma went to the Vijayawada Government Hospital to console the rape victim. At the same time, Chandrababu Naidu came with his supporters and a melee ensued. In the incident, the TDP cadres misbehaved with her.

She later served summons to both Chandrababu and TDP leader Bonda Uma, but both chose to ignore the summons. While the TDP has gone hammer and tongs against Vasireddy Padma, the YSRCP seems to have adopted a strange silence. No leader has come out in support of her in the incident.

Though the party has three women ministers - T Vanitha, V Rajani and RK Roja - not one of them came out in Vasireddy Padma's support. No leader of importance has even bothered to issue a statement. At the end of the day, Vasireddy Padma was left to fend for herself. This strange silence of the YSRCP leaders is now the topic of hot debate.
