What will the Jana Sena do now? Post the massive drubbing it received in the recent panchayat and municipal elections in Andhra Pradesh, the party is now in a dilemma. The dilemma is whether to stay with the BJP or to divorce it If it divorces the BJP, who should it marry now?
If sources are to be believed, the Jana Sena is all set to formalise its association with the Opposition Telugu Desam Party and enter into an open alliance with it. The Jana Sena, in fact, had a kind of understanding with the TDP in the panchayat and municipal elections too. It had helped the TDP wherever possible. In places where it could not put up a candidate, the TDP transferred its votes to the Jana Sena. This has accounted for a better performance of the Jana Sena in both panchayat and municipal elections. The Jana Sena is said to be unhappy with the BJP and is now trying to move closer to the TDP.
As of now, TDP candidate Panabaka Lakshmi has filed her papers for the Tirupati bypolls. The Congress is set to put up former MP Chinta Mohan and the BJP has decided on former civil servant Ratnaprabha. The YSRCP has already decided on popular doctor Gurumurthy.
