The upcoming cabinet reshuffle in AP is making waves in the state. The political class is buzzing about it. Political watchers are preparing their own lists of who will be in and who would be out of YS Jagan's team.
In fact, Jagan had said at the time of swearing in that the cabinet would be completely revamped after two years. In accordance, he has announced that there would be a complete revamp of the council of ministers.
The debate is now on who will stay put as ministers and who would be given the party responsibilities. Many observers have felt that Jagan may not after all replace heavyweights such as Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and Botsa Satyanarayana.
Both are in full command of their respective districts and call the shots there. In fact, both are singularly responsible for the huge victory the party has registered in Chittoor and Vizianagaram districts respectively.
But, highly placed sources say that both the ministers may be asked to put in their papers despite their contribution to the party. The sources say that Jagan has already asked them to standby and take up the responsibility of building up the party.
He reportedly told them that they should work to prepare the party for the 2024 elections. Sources say that both the ministers have agreed to the proposal.
Meanwhile, this decision would also establish the complete control that Jagan wields on the party. Asking the seniors to resign shows his stamp of authority, sources say. However, Jagan may suitably accommodate the younger generation leaders from the same family.
