The Congress High Command, it appears, has decided to make Revanth Reddy the new PCC chief. The announcement is likely to be made soon after the Nagarjunasagar byelection. The announcement has been put on hold on the request of Jana Reddy, who felt that the announcement could expose the groupism within the party and could affect his winning chances.
Sources say that the party feels that only a young, dynamic and energetic leader can help revive the party. Hence it has zeroed in on Revanth Reddy. The party's central leadership has reportedly decided to go ahead with Revanth Reddy despite opposition from some senior leaders. Sources also revealed that some leaders like Jana Reddy are okay with Revanth Reddy and it is being said that Jana had told the party's leadership that he has no objection if Revanth is made the PCC chief.
Recently, party's state incharge Manickam Tagore has announced that the PCC chief would be announced soon after the Nagarjunasagar bypoll. He also told that the party leadership has already decided on the PCC chief but had withheld it only because of the Nagarjunasagar bypoll. Once the poll is over, the new PCC chief would be announced, he said.
