Despite all her protestations, YS Sharmila's path is no bed of roses. Her claims that she will come to power in two more years and will usher in Rajanna Rajyam are being taken by the Telangana political class with a pinch of salt. They are laughing way her claims.
The political class in Telangana feels that Sharmila's claims of coming to power are outrageous as her party is yet to born, yet to be named and yet to be organised. The second and third level leaders and cadres are to be roped in. The big question is how can she come to power without a party, a framework, an organisational infrastructure and the leaders. As of now, her claims are proving to be fuel for TV debates.
Sharmila does not have any cadre nor following in Telangana. That being the case, who wil back her and who will vote her. The buzz in the political circles is that she has forayed into politics only to wreak vengeance on her brother YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Till now, there is no indication of any sort that leaders from the Congress, TRS and the BJP would flock into her party. In fact, YSR family's most trusted backers Konda Surekha and Konda Murali have point blank refused to join hands with her. They told her that the situation in 2014 and 2021 are entirely different.
Sharmila needs to build the party from the booth level. All the major political parties in Telangana are having considerable number of party workers. Sharmila too needs to do this to gain a foothold in politics.
