Will This IPS Office Become KCR's Minister

Update: 2020-02-06 05:53 GMT
Is KCR planning a major reshuffle in his government? Sources close to the TRS say that there would be a tectonic shift in the TRS strategy soon after the assembly session. If the sources are to be believed, a senior IPS officer of the Kerala cadre is likely to be inducted into KCR's cabinet. G Lakshman, who is the IG and incharge of the traffic and social policing in Kerala, is said to be preparing to resign from his post and join KCR's ministry.

Sources said that KCR had already spoken to Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan and impressed upon him the need to relieve Lakshman. Lakshnam still has a 16 year service, but is said to be ready to resign from his job and join the TRS. IG Lakshman's family has a long history in politics and several family members have been very active in politics. Sources also revealed that he was offered ticket by various political parties in 2009, 2014 and 2019. But, Lakshman did not evince any interest.

But, what with KCR showing personal interest, his Kerala counterpart has agreed to relieve him and he may soon get the clearance from the authorities. So, expect a police presence in KCR's cabinet soon.
