The political heat in the country increased at once with the forthcoming Presidential polls. The opposition parties and link-minded parties are not leaving any stone unturned to gather support for Yashwanth Sinha. He is also taking an active part in gathering support from various corners.
To counter him, Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Draupadi Murmu is also on a spree of visiting various states in this regard. Recently, she visited her home state Odisha and received a warm welcome. She will visit the southern state Karnataka today. Earlier, Murmu visited Kolkata and Lucknow. She is also scheduled to visit Andhra Pradesh in a few days.
BJP picked an ST candidate for the Presidential polls in Murmu and wants to push the same. A few Legislators have decided to vote for Murmu despite their parties supporting Sinha in the polls due to the same ST community relation.
The Presidential polls episode is going to be a tug of war and we have to wait and see how the Presidential candidates can do their best in gathering support from the parties and candidates.
On the other hand, Sinha and the opposition parties are constantly attacking Murmu on her RSS background saying that she will be a rubber stamp President. We have to wait and see if she can hit back at the criticism or simply, she will urge Legislators to cast their votes.
