TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu is a worried man these days. A resurgent and rising YSRCP is now trying to win maximum seats in the ensuing panchayat polls. The YSRCP has particularly targeted the pocket burroughs of Chandrababu Naidu in the district.
Chandrababu is from Chittoor and represents Kuppam assembly constituency. Since 1984, Chandrababu ensured that Kuppam stayed with him. But, this time around, the tide seems to be turning against Chandrababu as Chandragiri's sitting MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy has focused on Naravaripalle and Kundavaripalle, which are part of Chandragiri assembly constituency. Not only is he focusing on both the villages, he is putting up candidates from the Kamma community to which Chandrababu belongs. He is also trying to ensure that there is a unanimous election in these two villages.
If this happens, it would be a big glow for Chandrababu Naidu as Naravaripalle is his home village. This would be a huge psychological blow for him and his party. In the first phase of Panchayat polls too, the TDP performance is dismal. In most seats, the YSRCP did well.
