Amid Decrease In Covid Cases And Deaths, Punjab Announces More Relaxations

Following the decline in Covid-19 infections and fatalities, the Punjab government has eased the relaxations in the curfew and the state has lifted the Sunday lockdown.

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh's office has issued guidelines stating that the Sunday lockdown was withdrawn from the state given the sharp decline in cases and deaths.

However, the guidelines issued by the Chief Minister's office has directed the state DGP to see that the public wears safety masks and follows other safety norms.

According to some media reports, the state government has also eased the limitations on the attendees of marriage functions and funerals. Now the limit was increased to 100.

However, the government is yet to decide on reopening the schools and educational institutions. The official said, the decision on educational institutions will be announced soon.
