A corporator from Karimnagar has said that she will commit suicide if the MLA does not stop harassing her and her family!! Another woman corporator, also of the TRS, has resigned her post and cried in the press conference claiming that the MLA was giving her torrid time. Both the corporators are from the ruling TRS and the MLA in question too is from the TRS.
Strange as it may sound but this is the strange situation in Karimnagar municipal corporation, where most corporators are up in arms against party MLA Gangula Karunakar. A bitter feud is on between the MLA and mayor Ravinder Singh, the only Sikh mayor in the whole of South India. Singh, who is very close to KCR, used to be a regular fixture at the TRS meets before he became a mayor. Ever since he became a mayor, he is tied down to the city. But, he has been facing problems from MLA Gangula Karunakar, who too is close to the CM. The internecine squabble between the two has now spilled into the open. Corporators supporting Singh are up in arms against Gangula. Jayasri, one of the corporator has already submitted resignation, while Srilatha said she would end her life if the MLA did not stop harassing her. Mayor and several corporators are threatening to work against Gangula Kamalakar if he contests the assembly elections in 2018.
